the time they work, even if it does not follow a regular schedule.
Yes, contingent workers must report to a manager in Workday, and they will appear
with your other team members.
Yes, these features will be avaliable in Workday. Additionally, Workday will provide
supervisors with even greater visibility into the recruiting and hiring process
than they have today in our exisiting system. Be sure to

Yes, Workday is the system of record for all employee position transactions including
promotion and other job changes.
Yes. Hiring of student workers will also occur in Workday. The system will check
student enrollment for eligibility for student employment.
Managers will only see absences for their direct reports displayed on the Team Absence
calendar. Skip-level managers will have different absence reporting options
for employees downstream within their organization.
Performance FAQs
The past three years of performance ratings will be in Workday at the time of go-live.
The core function of Blue - employee performance evaluations - will be replaced by
Workday functionality in the future. However, Blue is used for other functions
such as Student Perception of Teaching (SPoT), and it is unclear whether
or how Blue will be used upon Workday go-live. More information will be communicated
as it is available.
Time & Absence
Yes, managers will be able to add, edit, and delete both time and leave on behalf
of the workers they support as needed.
Yes, managers will only be required to approve time by the end of the pay period.
However, they are free to approve time more frequently throughout the pay
period if they wish.
Yes. Workday can update employees' Outlook calendars when a leave request has been
approved.
Yes, time off requests can be retroactively corrected. Corrected or retroactive time
off requests will require re-approval from the employee's manager.
Time off and leaves of absence will be entered in Workday and will appear on a central
Team Calendar within the system, enabling supervisors to understand day-to-day
staffing in their areas.
WVU is not using Workday for scheduling purposes.
